Front Yard (Snow Flurries Atmosphere)

I painted the serene view of my front yard transformed by winter's gentle touch. My eye traveled from the forest edge in the foreground, where every branch and texture felt intimate and alive, across toward the soft gray hill that rises in the distance. The snow flurries drifted through the scene, and the hushed, cold atmospheric quality softened everything, pulling me deeper into wanting to capture it. In painting this everyday landscape, I found a quiet meditation on beauty in the familiar—and snow being a rare sight in Alabama, even if just a little, made it feel important to preserve. 9x12 panel
